Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy is performed to preserve a severely decayed or infected tooth to avoid its extraction. The tooth is composed of enamel from the outside and a pulp consisting of roots and nerves from the inside. Though tooth enamel is the strongest bone in the body, it is still vulnerable to bacterial, cavities, infection, and trauma; sometimes making it very painful. Root canal therapy is performed to preserve an affected tooth. During this procedure, the pulp comprising nerves and roots is extracted to relieve the patient from constant pain, and then it is sealed back using a unique process. The root canal therapy is a pain-free procedure, and it is meant to relieve you from pain. If unnecessarily delayed, the toothache can become unbearable, and saving the tooth might not be possible at a late stage. In such a case, the tooth replacement procedures cost much more than preventative therapy like a root canal.
